Season-high offensive output not enough in AutoZone Park setback

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A late-inning rally fell short Tuesday night at AutoZone Park, as Memphis baseball dropped a 9-6 decision against No. 21 Ole Miss.

After a three-run deficit, two Memphis runs in the bottom of the eighth inning sparked rally before Ole Miss put the game out of reach in the ninth.

Despite a season-high 15 hits, the Tigers stranded 11 base runners. Nine of the 10 Tigers that were sent to the plate throughout the game recorded at least one hit.

Hunter Goodman posted a 4-for-5 night. Alec Trela, Nick Vaage and Jason Santana also recorded two hits each.
