MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Former Tiger Joe Salisbury and partner Frederik Nielsen's run in the Gentlemen's Doubles draw at Wimbledon continued with a four-set victory against the 14-seeded team of Ben McLachlan and Jan-Lennard Struff in the quarterfinal round on Tuesday.
Salisbury and Nielsen advance to the semifinals and will face the winner of (13) Raven Klaasen/Michael Venus vs. (5) Jamie Murray/Bruno Soares on Thursday.
In a marathon match that saw just one service break, Salisbury and Nielsen claimed three tiebreaks to secure the win.
Salisbury and Nielsen found an early break point in the opening set's first game, but McLachlan and Struff fought back to force deuce and held.
