MEMPHIS – Junior quarterback was named the CollegeSportsMadness.com Offensive Player of the Week for the American Athletic Conference, Sunday. Ferguson helped Memphis to a 51-7 road win at SMU that made the Tigers bowl eligible for a third straight season for just the second time in program history. The junior quarterback played in to the early part of the third quarter, finishing 20-for-27 for 287 yards and four touchdowns against no interceptions.
The four touchdowns pushed Ferguson past the 20-touchdown mark. With his 21 touchdowns, Ferguson now ranks tied for fourth in the Memphis single season record book, and is just the fourth different Memphis quarterback to pass for 20 or more touchdowns in a single season.
