TAIPEI, Taiwan – Ashley Pryke, a rising junior on the University of Memphis track and field squad, competes in the women's javelin at the 2017 World University Games Wednesday, Aug. 23.
Pryke throws at 5:10 a.m. (CT) in the Qualification Group A. The women's javelin final is set for Friday, Aug. 25 at 6:55 a.m. (CT). She qualified for the World University Games in her first meet of the 2017 outdoor season, throwing a then-program record 175-3 (53.41m) at the Rhodes Invitational Mar. 17.
The Peterborough, Ontario native had a tremendous sophomore campaign in 2017, culminating in a third-place (bronze) finish at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in early June.
