MEMPHIS – Junior men's tennis player was named the American Athletic Conference Men's Tennis Player of the Month, Tuesday. Peniston, who was an all-conference honoree last year as a sophomore, went 9-2 in the month of October, picking up two wins over ranked opponents.
Peniston captured the second Ohio Valley Regional singles championship title in program history last week, earning a berth in the USTA/ITA National Indoor Intercollegiate Championships that start Thursday. That tournament will be played at the same facility that hosts the US Open each August.
"I was pretty pumped to win," Peniston said.
