MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Following a pair of singles victories highlighted by a top-25 win last weekend, senior was named the American Athletic Conference men's tennis player of the week.
Playing at the No. 2 singles position, Peniston began the Athens Regional of the ITA Kickoff Weekend with a straight-set victory against Adam Sanjurjo of Arkansas to help lead the Tigers to a 4-3 win against the Razorbacks.
The Great Britain native continued his impressive play, defeating No. 4 Georgia's 25-ranked Emil Reinberg by a final of 6-4, 6-0. Peniston's win against Reinberg was his second ranked win of the season and his third career top-25 victory in dual match play.
