Patrick Taylor Earns Spot on Wuerffel Trophy Watch List

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis junior running back Patrick Taylor was named a candidate for the Wuerffel Trophy Thursday. He is the eighth different member of the Tigers' roster to earn one of 12 watch list spots heading into the 2018 season.

The Wuerffel Trophy, which announced 106 candidates from the FBS, is named after 1996 Heisman Trophy-winning quarterback Danny Wuerffel from the University of Florida. It is awarded annually to the player that best combines exemplary community service with athletic and academic achievement.

Taylor tied the single game school record for touchdowns with his four-touchdown performance at Houston last year.
