ORLANDO, Fla. – Memphis pounded out nine runs in the third inning and cruised to a 9-4 win over UCF Saturday at UCF Baseball Complex. The Tigers (24-20, 5-9 AAC) will go for the series win Sunday at 10:30 a.m. (CT).
Connor Alexander recorded the win after pitching 4 2/3 innings of relief. He allowed just three hits and one unearned run. The junior right-hander was called on to get out of a tight spot in the third inning and was solid throughout.
Memphis blew the game wide open with a nine-run third inning on six hits and two errors.
