MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Track & Field graduate student Alyssa Morello was named American Athletic Conference (AAC) Women's Field Athlete of the Week, the conference announced Tuesday afternoon.
Morello, a Lake Zurich, Illinois native, earned the honor after a runner-up performance in the pole vault at the Vanderbilt Invitational. Morello's AAC-leading mark of 4.23m (13'10.5") was good for No. 2 in program history and is currently No. 11 in the NCAA.
A season ago, Morello turned in a third-place finish in pole vault at the indoor AAC Championships and a runner-up finish at the outdoor conference championships.
