PROVIDENCE, R.I. – After a 2-1 series win over the East Carolina Pirates, Memphis sophomore pitcher was named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll.
The honor is Smith's third of the 2016 season.
Playing in a four-game road swing, Smith pitched in every contest during the week, going 2-2 in the circle. She pitched 18 innings, striking out 18 batters with a 2.72 ERA. Opponents hit just .227 against her, as she walked seven batters and gave up eight extra-base hits.
She pitched a complete-game shutout in the series opener against East Carolina, striking out seven and walking three batters.
