DALLAS, Texas. – The Memphis Tigers went toe-to-toe with No. 17 SMU and came up just short in a 1-0 double overtime heartbreaker on the road Saturday. Memphis falls to 2-7-3 overall and 1-2-1 in American Athletic Conference play.
"The difference in the match was that we were unable to take advantage of opportunities and they were," said head coach Richard Mulrooney. "We have to be able to finish chances."
The Tigers finished the match with nine shots, four of which were on goal.
Memphis and SMU remained scoreless through regulation and one overtime period before the Mustangs scored the game-winning goal in the 103rd minute of the contest.
