Men's golfers enjoying strong offseason start

MEMPHIS, Tenn. Isaiah Jackson shot 20-under 268 – including a final-round 9-under 63 – to finish second, by a single stroke, in the Dogwood Invitational Friday in Atlanta.

Auburn's Brandon Manchero captured the title with a birdie on the final hole to complete a 7-under 65 for a 72-hole total of 21-under 267. Manchero had 15 birdies and only one bogey on his final 36 holes.

Jackson, who will be a senior this fall, was one of the most consistent golfers for the University of Memphis program last season. His 72.6-stroke average tied for second on the team behind Bradley Bawden.
