Men's golf finishes fifth at Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate

AIKEN, S.C. – The University of Memphis maintained its position after 36 holes and held on to fifth place in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate during the final round Tuesday at Palmetto Golf Club.

The Tigers shot 14-over 294, but no one passed them Tuesday in the 18-team event. South Carolina ran away with the title by shooting a tournament-record 27-under par for 813. Defending champion Virginia finished 35 strokes back at 848 along with UAB. Clemson finished fourth at 855.

Memphis, playing in its third spring event, was led by Isaiah Jackson, who shot 3-over 73 Tuesday and finished the 54-hole event at 2-over 212.
