NORMAN, Okla. - The University of Memphis' men's golf program has earned a Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Team Academic Award.
To be eligible for the award, teams have to have 3.0 or better GPA's, and submit the GPA's for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.
The Tigers closed the 2015-16 season at the NCAA Kohler Regional, and finished inside of the top five in eight of ten events during the season. The squad was led by All-American , who averaged a Memphis golf-record 71.8 strokes per round. van Meijel was also named All-Region and to the All-Conference squad.
