Men's Basketball Signs Kareem Brewton to a National Letter of Intent

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head men's basketball coach Tubby Smith has announced that Kareem Brewton, a 6-3 guard who played the last two seasons at Eastern Florida State College, has signed his National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Tigers starting in the 2017-18 season.

Brewton, a native of Claxton, Georgia, was twice named the Southern Conference Player of the Year, including this season after averaging 19.9 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game for Eastern Florida State College. His 718 overall points were third-most in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I, while his scoring average ranked 26th.
