Memphis Streak Snapped on Late Rally

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis allowed five runs in the ninth inning and lost 7-6 to Georgia Southern Saturday at FedExPark. The Tigers (6-3) will go for the series win over the Eagles (5-5) Sunday at 1 p.m.

Memphis held a 3-2 lead going to the ninth inning before Georgia Southern knocked in five runs, including a grand slam to go up 7-3. Reliever Jonathan Bowlan took the loss after loading the bases in the ninth.

Designated hitter Andy Bowman hit a two-out three-run homer in the bottom of the ninth to cut the deficit to one run but the Tigers couldn't complete the rally.
