MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – The Memphis Tiger women's tennis team competed in the ITA Ohio Valley Regional Championships last week in Murfreesboro, Tenn., facing foes from Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Louisville, Xavier, Cincinnati and Kentucky, among others.
All eight Tigers who traveled to the Championships competed in the Main Draw of the tournament.
Among the highlights of singles play, Memphis freshman Emily Meyer defeated second-seeded Ahmeir Kyle of Xavier, who is ranked 100th in the nation, and 17th-seeded Aran Teixido-Garcia defeated Lauren Carrelli of Belmont in the first round, 6-1, 6-1.
