MEMPHIS – For the second straight preseason, the Memphis Tigers football team has been selected to win the West Division of the American Athletic Conference in a vote of the media.
The Tigers, who finished 10-3 last season, received 23 first place votes and 171 points to edge Houston (146) as a pick to win the West. UCF, the defending AAC champ from 2017, was picked to win the East with 175 points. The Knights were also picked to win the American Athletic Conference Championship, with 19 votes. Memphis was the second choice to win the league title with seven points, while USF (3) and Houston (1) rounded out the preseason predictions.
