Memphis Drops Extra-Inning Game to Austin Peay

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Austin Peay scored seven runs from the eighth through 10th innings to beat Memphis 9-7 in extra innings Tuesday at FedExPark. The Tigers (12-20) held a 9-2 lead before allowing two in the eighth, three in the ninth and two more in the 10th.

Memphis will next travel to No. 2 Mississippi State for a game Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

Freshman starter Jonathan Bowlan had the best outing of his young career, tossing a career-high six innings and allowing just two runs.

Chris Carrier returned to the lineup went 2-for-4 with two doubles in the game, while Brandon Grudzielanek also went 2-for-4 and drove in three runs.
