DALLAS, Texas – Memphis women's tennis scored revenge Wednesday morning, defeating Cincinnati 4-1 in the opening round of the American Athletic Conference Championships.
The Tigers (16-7, 3-3) extended their win streak to eight matches and now face second-seeded Tulsa in the quarterfinal round on Thursday at 3 p.m.
Having dropped the previous three meetings to the Bearcats, including a 5-2 decision earlier this season, the Tigers struck quickly in doubles and used three singles wins from the top of their lineup to earn the victory.
"What a great team effort today," Head Coach Hayden Perez said.
