MILLINGTON, Tenn. – Memphis didn't let a 90-minute delay slow them down, blasting UT Martin for eight runs in the first inning en route to a 10-0 seven-inning run-rule win in the Babe Howard Classic Tuesday at USA Stadium.
Drew Talley made his first career start on the mound and was brilliant. The freshman right-hander pitched six scoreless innings with 10 strikeouts, both career highs. He allowed only three hits and one walk in the game.
Memphis exploded for its biggest inning of the season right out of the gate, scoring eight runs in the bottom of the first inning.
