MEMPHIS, Tenn. – For the third straight season, the Memphis baseball team has been recognized by the ABCA as a Team Academic Excellence Award recipient.
The award recognizes college baseball programs that earn at least a 3.0 team GPA on a 4.0 scale. The Tigers, who finished the 2018-19 academic year with a 3.28 GPA, join American Athletic Conference members Cincinnati, ECU, Tulane and Wichita State in earning the annual honor.
This week's ABCA award announcement caps a successful season in the classroom for the Tigers. Individually, junior Alec Trela earned Google Cloud Academic All-America honors.
