MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis head baseball coach Daron Schoenrock has announced the addition of Carter Smith, a catcher from Fort Myers, Fla., to the Tigers' roster for the 2017 season.
"We are thrilled that Carter has decided to become a Tiger," said Schoenrock. "He is a proven winner and we feel that he will develop into a tremendous college catcher with the capabilities to lead a pitching staff. He will be a great addition to our program."
Smith, who played on the varsity team starting in eighth grade, helped lead his Canterbury School team to its first ever Florida 3A State Championship in 2016 with an overall record of 31-1.
