WICHITA, Kan. – The University of Memphis softball team held off a late inning push by Wichita State Sunday afternoon to defeat the Shockers by a score of 10-7 in eight innings. The Tigers improve to 23-8 on the year and 2-1 in American Athletic Conference play with a midweek doubleheader coming up Tuesday.
Memphis took an early lead over Wichita State after Kyler Trosclair Klatt recorded a two-RBI single and Addison Maxwell drew a bases loaded walk. The Shockers answered two innings later with a two-run shot to cut the Memphis lead down to one, 3-2.
