Hoops HD tabs Martin player of the year in American Athletic Conference

MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis point guard Jeremiah Martin, who led the American Athletic Conference in scoring this season, was named the league's player of the year by the basketball web site HoopsHD.

Martin earned all-conference second-team honors Monday in voting conducted by the league's 12 coaches. Martin averaged 18.9 points during a season shortened in the final weeks by a broken left foot. He held off a late-season charge by UConn's Jalen Adams to win the scoring title.

Martin missed the final three games of the regular season after breaking his foot in an upset of then-No.
