MEMPHIS, Tenn. – University of Memphis freshman guard Tyler Harris earned American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week honors Monday for his efforts in the UofM's victories over South Dakota State and UAB, while senior guard Jeremiah Martin made the league's Weekly Honor Roll.
Harris, a former Cordova High star, scored 22 in an 88-80 win over South Dakota State Tuesday at FedExForum and followed with a 24-point effort in Saturday's 94-76 victory over former league rival UAB.
In the two wins, Harris went 8-of-19 from beyond the arc and made 12 of 13 free throws.
