ORLANDO, Fla. – University of Memphis senior grabbed the day-one lead in the men's decathlon at the 2016 American Athletic Conference Outdoor Track and Field Championships Thursday. Tigers sophomore is in third place in the women's heptathlon.
The decathlon and heptathlon continue Friday at the UCF Soccer and Track Complex on the UCF campus.
Hanssler, the two-time American Athletic Conference decathlon champion, leads the field with 3879 points after five events. Hanssler's closest competitor is over 200 points behind him.
