MEMPHIS, Tenn. – After breaking the American Athletic Conference freshman single-season record for three-pointers, guard Madison Griggs has been named to the AAC Weekly Honor Roll, the league announced Tuesday afternoon.
Griggs entered the weekend needing three triples to break current WNBA player and former UConn standout Katie Lou Samuelson's AAC freshman record of 78 three-pointers. Against UCF, Griggs hit five three-pointers and eclipsed 80 for the season, which also broke the all-time Memphis freshman record (men's and women's) set by Tyler Harris last season.
Against SMU, Griggs finished with a team-leading 21 points behind seven three-pointers.
