PROVIDENCE, R.I. – University of Memphis redshirt freshman running back has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll after continuing to shine in the 42-41 road victory at Tulsa on Saturday. Gainwell led the Tigers with 149 yards on the ground and a career-high three touchdowns in the victory.
Saturday's game marked the sixth-consecutive game this season Gainwell has recorded at least 100 rushing yards. Gainwell's streak of six games is the third-longest in program history behind streaks of 13 games and 10 games by former NFL first round draft pick, DeAngelo Williams.
