Former Tiger Sprinter Lynn Fox Passes Away

ASHEVILLE, N.C. – Former University of Memphis sprinter Lynn Fox, age 67, passed away at his Asheville, North Carolina home Thursday. Inducted in to the M Club Hall of Fame in 1994, Fox, a native of Chattanooga, was a highly-successful sprinter for the men's track and field program at then-Memphis State.

Joining the roster in 1968, Fox teamed with Everett Taylor, Ed Hammonds and Maurice Knight and captured the 1973 NCAA National Championship in the 4x100-yard relay with a time of 39.6 seconds, a mark that stood for 45 years until Sunday , when the current Memphis 4x100 team broke the mark at the AAC Championships.
