Football Senior Salute: Chris Claybrooks

Chris Claybrooks, a native of Nashville, Tenn., transferred to the University of Memphis in 2018 after competing for Fort Scott Community College in 2016 and Coahoma Community College in 2017. Claybrooks spent the start of his football career on offense and played wide receiver and running back until transferring to Memphis where he switched to defense.

For two seasons, Claybrooks played in 21 games as a defensive back. During the Birmingham Bowl in 2018, Claybrooks had a breakthrough game with a season-high in tackles and a 37-yard interception returned for a TD. Although he missed the first five games due to a foot injury in 2019, Claybrooks followed that up performance up with a solid senior campaign.
