MEMPHIS – Junior quarterback Riley Ferguson (Matthews, N.C./Butler HS/Coffeyville CC) was named the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office, Monday. It's the first career honor from The American for Ferguson and the first weekly win for the Tigers this season.
Saturday against Bowling Green, Ferguson tied a Memphis and American Athletic Conference record with seven touchdowns, including one rushing, in a 77-3 victory. Ferguson now shares the mark with former Tiger quarterback , who twice accounted for seven touchdowns (Miami Beach Bowl, 2014; vs SMU, 2015).
