MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis Tigers center Jalen Duren has been named the American Athletic Conference Freshman of the Week for his efforts in a pair of Tiger wins last week.
Duren averaged 17.5 points, 13.5 rebounds and 5.5 blocks per game in wins over Saint Louis and Western Kentucky last week, and he shot 73.3 percent from the floor (11-15).
The Sharon Hill, Pa., native started the week with 13 points, eight rebounds and six blocked shots Tuesday against Saint Louis, and he dominated with 22 points, 19 rebounds and five blocks Friday against Western Kentucky.
