NASHVILLE, Tenn. - University of Memphis sophomore forward has been named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Men's Basketball Player of the Week, announced on Tuesday morning.
Lawson averaged 24.7 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.7 assists per game for the Tigers, who went 2-1 on the week.
In the opening game of the week he scored 20 points with 10 rebounds and six assists against McNeese. Lawson hit 9-of-14 shots against the Cowboys, 2-of-4 from long range, and blocked three shots and added two steals.
In the team's loss on the week to Providence, he scored 19 points and pulled down nine rebounds with two assists and two blocked shots.
