MEMPHIS, Tenn. - University of Memphis freshman has been named the American Athletic Conference Rookie of the Week, announced by the American Athletic Conference office on Monday afternoon.
Lawson averaged a double-double for the week with 12 points and 10 rebounds per game. He pulled down an even 10 rebounds in each of his two games during the week and scored 16 points against Ohio State, hitting 7-of-17 shots from the field. Over the two games he added seven assists, five blocked shots, and three steals over the two games.
Also being named to the American Athletic Conference Honor Roll was senior Shaq Goodwin.
