PROVIDENCE, R.I. - After setting an American Athletic Conference record for Rookie of the Week honors last season, has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week for the second consecutive week after leading the Tigers to a 1-1 week including an overtime win at Oklahoma on Saturday.
Lawson averaged 22 points, 13 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game for the Tigers, and had just four turnovers over the two games. He led the team in points, rebounds, assists, steals, and tied in blocks during the week. He hit 15-of-30 shots from the field, 2-of-8 from long range, and 12-of-14 (85.
