EUGENE, Ore. – University of Memphis track and field's competed in the men's javelin during first-day action at the 2017 NCAA Outdoor Championships Wednesday. The national meet is hosted by the University of Oregon at the Ducks' historic Hayward Field.
Criticos, a junior, placed 13 among the event's 24 competitors. He threw a personal season-best 227-0 (69.18m). His previous 2017 season-best was 226-7 (69.06m) at Southeast Missouri's Joey Haines Invitational in early April.
Criticos was the only competitor in the men's javelin at the NCAA Championships from the American Athletic Conference.
His 13-place performance tied his effort in the 2015 NCAA Championships.
