MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis scored eight runs on 11 hits but fell just short, 12-8, in the series opener with Baylor Friday night at FedExPark. The Tigers (11-24) will look to even the series Saturday at 2 p.m.
Ben Brooks had the biggest day of his young career, going 3-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. He had previously only had one career multiple-hit game.
Carlos Williams also finished with two hits with an RBI and two runs scored. Nick Vaage was 2-for-5 with a double and two runs scored.
Baylor scored in six different innings, but did the majority of the damage early with three runs in the first and four runs in the third.
