ORLANDO, Fla. – Jonathan Bowlan allowed just two runs on six hits in seven innings but he was handed a tough-luck loss as UCF came out on top 2-1 Sunday at UCF Baseball Complex. The Tigers dropped the series and fell to 24-21 and 5-10 in American Athletic Conference play.
Memphis managed just three hits offensively and scored the one run on a solo home run by Chris Carrier. Despite only having three hits, the Tigers had some opportunities but finished with six runners left on base.
The Tigers were hitless through the first three innings, while UCF got on the board in the bottom of the third after a leadoff double came around to score on an RBI groundout.
