MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Memphis gave up a four-run eighth inning to fall 8-7 to Belmont Tuesday at FedExPark. The Tigers (14-28) and Bruins went back and forth throughout the game with Belmont throwing the final blow late.
Starting pitcher Jonathan Bowlan was solid in a short outing, allowing one run on three hits in four innings pitched.
Belmont took an early lead after two singles in the top of the first inning. The run came home on a two-out base hit. Bowlan settled in after that first inning and didn't allow another hit.
Memphis tied the game in the second inning after Chris Carrier singled on a bunt to start the inning.
