MEMPHIS, Tenn. – Junior linebacker has been named to the American Athletic Conference Weekly Honor Roll as was announced by the league Monday morning. Avery returned an interception for a touchdown in the third quarter to help lead the Tigers to a victory over Temple.
Avery's pick-six was his second in the last three games. The 23-yard interception also marked the third game this season that the Tigers defense scored points in a game. He ranks seventh in the league with his two interceptions and first in pick-six's.
The Memphis defense was led by Avery who finished the contest with nine tackles.
