The Tigers open a new era of Memphis basketball in the 2016-17 season under legendary coach , who took control of the program on April 14.
Smith, who has 557 career wins, has taken five schools to the NCAA Tournament, a feat that only he and Lon Kruger (current head coach of Oklahoma) have done in collegiate basketball history.
