The injury bug has plagued the Memphis Grizzlies over the last several seasons, and it doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon. Most recently, after Shams Charania announced on June 30th that Jaren Jackson Jr. would be signing a five-year, $240 million contract extension with the Grizzlies, the team announced the injury bug’s next victim.
The injury, known as turf toe, was sustained during the offseason, and Jackson Jr. had to undergo a procedure that would kickstart his recovery over the summer. Jackson Jr.’s timeline to return is reportedly the beginning of next season, if everything goes as planned.
