The Memphis Grizzlies had a weird 2016-17 season.
For one, they didn’t play the same brand of basketball that has brought them success. Marc Gasol was shooting 3-pointers. Zach Randolph was coming off the bench. A 40-year old Vince Carter was their best wing. They also played young guys more.
Aside from their style of play, their big-time free agent acquisition Chandler Parsons was never able to make an impact this season. They won an underwhelming 43 games which was both expected yet disappointing. Even though they got bounced in six games, they still had a strong finish.
