The playoff race out West has been tight. After the Warriors lost Kevin Durant to injury, the Spurs have surged and are making a strong case for the first seed. The Rockets and Jazz basically locked up the third and fourth seeds. However, the Los Angeles Clippers, Memphis Grizzlies and the Oklahoma City Thunder are separated by a whole game for the fifth seed.
The sixth and seventh seeds have essentially become a “pick your poison” scenario. You could deal with Mike D’Antoni’s explosive offense led by MVP frontrunner James Harden and 6th Man of the Year contenders Lou Williams and Eric Gordon.
