It has been well documented that this season is clearly not how the front office, the coaches, the players, or the fans pictured it to be. The Memphis Grizzlies came out of the gate on top of the league. They started out 5-1 with wins over Golden State, Houston (2) and New Orleans.
Then after being 7-4, the Grizzlies suffered a horrendous 12-game losing streak from November 11 to December 2, which is forgotten about after losing 19 in a row later in the season. Once it became clear the post season was out of reach for this team, the front office announced they would be focusing on player development for the rest of the season.
