Just as it seemed the Grizzlies were done making moves this off-season earlier this month, shocking news dropped that Jay Huff will be wearing a new set of threads next year - and they won’t say Memphis. ESPN’s Shams Charania announced that Huff was traded “to the Indiana Pacers for one second-round pick and one second-round pick swap on July 5th,” but the Grizzlies signed free agent Jock Landale on the same day to fill the backup big man void.
As is the case with most trades, there were a lot of mixed feelings from the fanbase when this news first dropped.
