The Memphis Grizzlies battled hard but came up just short against the Toronto Raptors 99-95 at FedExForum on Friday evening.
The Grizzlies (41-35) lost their season-high fifth straight game, while the Raptors extended their franchise record in wins as they moved to 51-24.
Memphis built a nine-point lead early in the third quarter, but the Raptors fought back to take a 62-60 lead with 4:44 to play in the frame, and then again 66-64 with 2:32 left. The Grizzlies wouldn’t fade, though, as a Vince Carter putback right before the horn made it 74-72 entering the final quarter.
