Don Poier was the legendary voice of the Grizzlies between 1995-2005, until his untimely death. Don brought a passion for the game that was second to none. He was a treasured member of the Grizzlies, beloved by family, friends, athletes, and fans throughout his career, spanning two countries, three decades, dozens of teams, thousands of games, and countless sporting events. Don is remembered for his wit, charm, and warmth, but most of all, for his genuine love of family, friends, and the game of basketball.

Don’s legacy lives on through his wife Barb Poier and the Don Poier Memorial Scholarship which was established in 2006 and awarded to a Shelby County high school student who possesses strong excellent academic performance, strong character, community involvement and active citizenship.
