Saturday night’s showdown with the Philadelphia 76ers was a tale of two halves for the Memphis Grizzlies.
The first half was a grotesque hodgepodge of careless passing, poor shot selection, and lazy perimeter defense. In the second half, Memphis dialed in, played their best for several stretches, forced overtime, and remained undefeated at home.
It was an utter joy to watch for Grizzlies fans. Memphis suffocated Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons, while they saw themselves draining clutch bucket after clutch bucket. Trailing by 16 in the first half and ten early in the fourth quarter, there was simply no quit in them tonight.
